Linguistics with Mind, Brain, and Behavior Track
- Required non-tutorial courses (10 half-courses):
- Three required half-courses in Linguistics: Linguistics 110 and two out of the following: Linguistics 112a, Linguistics 115, or either Linguistics 120 or Linguistics 122.
- Three required half-courses in MBB:
- Science B-29: Evolution of Human Behavior. ii. MCB 80 (Formerly BS 80): Behavioral Neuroscience. iii. An MBB Junior Seminar (see mbb.harvard.edu/undergrad_prog_junior_sem.html).
- One additional half-course in Linguistics.
- Two additional half-courses in MBB.
- One additional half-course in Linguistics with an MBB focus. Examples of such courses include "Natural Language Processing," "Philosophy of Language," and "Cognitive Neuropsychology."
Note: No course can be counted doubly to satisfy requirements (a)-(e). The courses to be counted towards the MBB requirements must be approved by the Head Tutor. Approval is automatic if the course is chosen from those listed in the Requirements for the Linguistics with MBB Track (available upon request from the Department).
- Required Tutorials: Same as Linguistics Requirements for Honors Eligibility.
- Required Languages: Same as Linguistics Requirements for Honors Eligibility.
- Thesis: Same as Linguistics Track.
- General Information: Same as Linguistics Track.
- Other information:
- Pass/Fail: Courses taken Pass/Fail cannot be counted for concentration credit.
- Students with an unusually strong background may be permitted to substitute another linguistics course for Linguistics 110.
